What is the effect on the control of the vehicle if there is a film of water between the vehicle’s tyres and the road surface?

Explantion: When driving on a road where there is a lot of surface water, a film of water can build up between the tyres and the road surface. When this occurs it is called aquaplaning, it reduces the grip of the tyres on the road and can result in the total loss of control over the vehicle’s steering and braking.
