How should a driver in a vehicle without anti-lock brakes (ABS) deal with a front-wheel straight-line skid?

Press in the clutch and release the accelerator.
Press and release the footbrake at rapid intervals.
Turn the steering wheel gently from side to side.
Pull the handbrake and hold the footbrake down.

Explantion: If your vehicle does not have ABS and it goes into a straight-line front-wheel skid due to braking, press and release the brake pedal repeatedly and rapidly. This will help to restore tyre grip and enable you to regain control.
